1 Corinthians 13
- How can we have faith withour love?
- Paul is emphasizing the importance of love.
- The only way to gain anything is to have love.
- Paul lists what love is: "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; [2] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
- These aspects of love should exist in every relationship at all times. This list is a great way to evaluate your relationships with people, spouses, friends, enemies, etc.
- Love is the only thing that won't pass away. Even our giftings will pass away.
- Paul said he used to think like a child, but now has given up childish ways.
- Paul is looking forward to seeing the love in heaven which now he only glimpses on earth. He longs for this.
- Faith, hope, and love are important, but love is the greatest.
