Exodus 15 - Job 33 - Luke 18 - 2 Corinthians 3

Exodus 15
- Moses and the people sang a song of God's triumph over the Egyptians.
- The people now saw God as their strength and salvation.
- The song recounts how God congealed the waters, Egypt pursued Israel, and then God released the waters destroying the Egyptians.
- They now saw God as the supreme god majestic and holy.
- The people know that God redeemed them with His great love for them.
- The result of all that God did in Egypt was that all the neighboring people are terrified of the Israelites and move to the side to let them pass through.
- Is Miriam the prophetess also Moses' sister?
- The people of Israel left the REd Sea and after 3 days already they were complaining to Moses about not having water, because the water was bitter. God told Moses to put a certain log in the water which made it sweet.
- God gave them a rule, that if they listen to Him and keep His commandments they shall not see diseases come upon them.
- The Lord is also our healer.

Job 33
- Elihu speaks humbly saying he also was made from the same clay Job was.
- Elihu points out that Job says he is pure and without transgression, but Elihu points out that God is greater.
- Elihu says God will speak in visions and dreams.
- Elihu says man needs an angel, or a mediator (Christ) to go before God and have his righteousness restored
- Can a man ever be righteous apart from Jesus' work on the cross?
- Man can then rejoice becuase sin and perversion was not counted against him.
- Can God redeem one person more than once?
- Elihu continues to encourage Job to listen to his words.

Luke 18
- Jesus tells a parable about a woman who continually comes before a judge to receive justice. Though the man was not God or man fearing, he gave the woman justice so she would stop her continual coming.
- God, our holy judge, will grant justice quickly.
- Jesus told this parable to humble His listeners who boasted in their humility and happenings. Jesus said 2 men went up to the temple. One was a Pharisee who boast in all he did. The other was a tax collector who couldn't even look to heaven, and simply asked for God to be merciful to him.
- Jesus tells those listening that the second man went away justified for whoever exalts themselves will be humbles and the humble will be exalted.
- Jesus told His disciples to let chilrden come to Him, for they will inherit the kingom.
- Does this mean all children who die go to heaven?
- At what age would this grace end?
- The rich ruler comes to Jesus and says he has kept all of the commandments, but when Jesus tells him to sell all he has and follow him, the man goes away saddened.
- Jesus throws out the camel through the eye of a needle comment, to which He says that though this is impossible, with God all things are possible.
- v.29 -30 - Does this promise for those who have left everything also cover over Judas' future betrayal?
- Jesus tells the disciples of His future death and resurrection for a 3rd time but they still don't understand.
- There was a blind beggar who heard Jesus was passing by and yelled out to Him, though others tried to silence him. Jesus came to him and said his faith had made him well.

2 Corinthians 3
- Paul states that the Corinthians' faith is his letter of recommendation written on their hearts.
- Pasul says that he is a minister of the Spirit not of letters.
- Paul refers to Moses' ministry and the commandments were a ministry of death, but still the people couldn't look at Moses' unveiled face
- The ministry of righteousness (the Spirit) far exceeds the ministry of condemnation (the Law).
- The Spirit's glory far exceeds the glory of Moses' laws.
- The Spirit is perminant and has much greater glory than the temporary laws.
- Paul says that the Spirit gives them great confidence and they don't need to have a veil over their face like Moses did because Christ has removed the veil.
- The Spirit of the Lord gives those who believe freedom.
- Those who believe are going from one degree of glory (living under the law) to a higher level which is in the Spirit.
