Exodus 19 - 20
- Moses went up on Mount Siani and God told Moses to remind the people that God brought them out of Egypt.
- The people agreed to follow the Lord and consecrate themselves because God would come down in a thick cloud to speak with Moses on the 3rd day.
- Moses told the people to wash their clothes and not "be with a woman" and to not go past the boundaries set at the bottom of the mountain. If someone did they would be stoned or shot.
- Why didn't God simply strike those people down?
- There was a loud trumpet sound and thunder and lightning on the 3rd day, and the moutain itself trembled.
- The Lord told Moses to go warn the people not to come up, but Moses reminded God of his previous commandment.
- God told Moses to go down and bring Aaron up with him.

- They should make an alter of earth to give their burnt offerings and their peace offerings.
- Wherever they remember God's name He will bless them
Job 37 - 38
- It's interesting that Elihu compares God's voice to thunder just like what's happening on Mt. Sianai in Exodus today.
- Elihu states that God does things which we cannot comprehend.
- He causes natural events to happen whether for correction or for love.
- Elihu states this about God's character, " The Almighty—we cannot find him;
he is great in power; justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate."
Ch. 38
- After all of that rebuke from Elihu, God finally replies to Job out of a whirlwind.

- Jesus knew where they'd find a room and he gave them instructions
- Jesus told them this was the last time that he'd drink of the vine before he reached heaven.
- The bread was his body given to them and the wine was the blood of a new covenant.
- Jesus gave a woe to the man who would betray Him, and the disciples talked amongst themselves on this issue.
- Jesus told them that they should seek to serve, like Him, not to be served.
- Will Judas have a spot in heaven?
- Jesus said that He had prayed for Simon that he might not fail when Satan sifts him like wheat.
- Jesus also told Peter that he'd deny Jesus 3 times that very night.
- Jesus asked them if they lacked anything when they took nothing into the people. They said they never lacked anything.
- Was Jesus upset about their answer of the 2 swords?
_
- Why does Luke's account of Jesus prayers at the Mount of Olives only mention one prayer time before the angel comes to strengthen Him.
- He sweat blood while He was praying.
- Why does in say, "being in an agony"?
- Luke also didn't specify which disciples went with Him.
- One of the disciples cut off the priest's servant's ear, but Jesus rebuked him and healed the man's ear. (Jesus still healed in the midst of His betrayal)
- Jesus points out they arrested Him under the "power of darkness"
- In a little over an hour, Peter denied Jesus 3 times and wept bitterly when the rooster crowed.
- The people began beating Him and mocking Him.
- They asked if Jesus was the Son of God, and He replied they said He was.
Ch. 23
- The Jews took Him to Pilate, who found no guilt in Him.
- They falsely accused Him of not paying taxes to Caesar.

- Herod wanted to see Jesus do a sign, but Jesus did, and said nothing.
- Pilate and Herod found no guilt in Jesus so was simply going to punish Him and release Him.
- The people continued to shout to crucify Jesus and release Barrabas. Finally Pilate gave into the people's wishes.
- Jesus tells women not to weep for Him, but for themselves and their children.

- To mock Him they put a label over Him reading, "King of the Jews"

- The second criminal asked Jesus to remember Him and Jesus said he'd be with Him in Paradise that very day.
- Jesus was hung for 3 hours, darkness fell and the curtain in the Temple was torn in two.
- The centurion watching Jesus' death take place said He was innocent.

2 Corinthians 7-8
- Paul builds off of what he had said about the body being a holy temple when starting Chapter 7
- Paul tells them that he lives and dies with them and has great joy over them.
- Why would the Corinthians see Paul's words as condemning?
- Titus comforted Paul and others by telling them about the Corinthians faith.

- Paul spurs them on to excel in the act of grace
- The way you act will show your faith to be genuine.
- The Corinthian church had been going for a year. (I think)
- Paul quotes Jesus when he encourages the Corinthians to give equally to those who are poor.
- Are the Corinthians super rich?
- Paul is sending Titus back to them.
- We should seek what is honorable before God and before man.
- Isn't this the opposite of what Jesus said about NOT doing things in front of people?
