Leviticus 4
- How would you know if you had sin unintentionally?
- Are all the people found guilty of sins commited by priests?
- The priest needs to sprinkle the bull's blood 7 times in front of the veil.
- The rest of the bull shall be burned.
- What kind of sin would all of Israel commit without knowing it?
- A male goat shall be sacrificed for a leader who sins.
- A female goat shall be sacrificed for a common sinner, he could also bring a female sheep without blemish as an offering.
Proverbs 20
- Getting drunk is not wise.
- Only fools seek out a quarrel
- A man of understanding can draw out and counsel a man in deep matters.
- A righteous man is a blessing to his children.
- No one is perfect.
- Plans succeed with counsel.
- Why won't God bless a quick money gain?
- Man cannot understand his future because God is in control of it.
- A man's spirit shows what he is really made of.
- Wounds cleanse away evil and make one clean.
Acts 2
- The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentacost
- There was a loud roaring sound and tongues like fire landed on the people.
- All the disciples and people gathered there were Galileans but they were talking in everyone else's language. The Jews took note of this because they too heard the noise of the Holy Spirit.
- proselytes - A new convert to a doctrine or religion
- How could some say they were talking in other languages because they were drunk?
- Peter spoke and said they weren't drunk because it was too early in the day.
- Where did Peter quote the passage from that he spoke to the Jews?
- Paul reminds those listening about Jesus who they had killed and God had raised up from the dead.
- Peter also quotes David, who talked about give life.
- Peter says that David knew about Christ and spoke about Him when he was alive.
- God made Jesus Lord and Christ as He had promised David He would do.
- The people asked what they should do and Peter replied, to repent of sins and be baptized.
- 3,000 people were saved that day.
- The new believers listened to teaching, broke bread (as Jesus had taught them to do), and prayed.
- The new believers were selling their possessions and giving to those in need.
- They were being continually blessed and had favor with those around them.
Philippians 2
- Paul told them to be united in love because of what Christ has done for them.
- Do nothing from rivalry, but count others better than yourself.
- Look to other's interests, not just my own.
- We should count ourselves as nothing, following the example Christ gave us.
- Jesus humbled Himself and gave up His life for suinners like us even though we didn't deserve it.
- Paul encourages them to work out their salvation with fear and trembling (fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom)
- Do all things without grumbling or complaining, so that we may be holy in a crooked world.
- They should rejoice in being a light to the world.
- Paul hopes to send Timothy to them and be able to rejoice in hearing of their faith.
- Epaphroditus was already sent to them by Paul.
- Epaphroditus was really sick and almost died, but he has recovered and is coming to them.
- Why was Paul anxious? Did he lack faith?
