leviticus 22 - Ecclesiastes 7 – acts 20 – 2 Timothy 1

Leviticus 22
- the priests cannot approach holy things while unclean.
- Why does an emission of semen (having sex?) cause a person to be unclean? Does this hold true even for married people?
- No guests or foreigners should eat of the holy things.
- A priest's widowed daughter may eat of holy portion.
- If anyone unintentionally eats holy food they shall pay back a 5th of its value.
- Did the Lord ever speak to Aaron directly or was it always through Moses?
- An offering animal shall be without blemish.
- Why can an animal with uneven legs be accepted as a freewill offering?
- A baby animal may not be sacrificed until it is 8 days old and cannot be killed on the same day as its mother.
- God reminds them that He brought them out of Egypt.

Ecclesiastes 7
- Having a good name (reputation) is better than riches.
- Why does Solomon list the "bad things" as good?
- A rebuke from the wise is far better than songs of fools.
- Why is the end of something better than the beginning?
- Do not ask and think that former days were better than the present.
- Wisdom preserves life.
- What God has made crooked we cannot make straight.
- Be equally happy whether joyful or in adversity because has given you both.
- How can you be too righteous or too wise?
- There is no one on earth who does good and never sins. (we all have sinned)
- Do not take to heart what others say about you.
- Solomon has tried in vain to understand everything, but he cannot do it.
- Solomon sees that God created man upright (good) but they have sought out many schemes.

Acts 20
- Paul was encouraging fellow believers and he went to Greece.
- He spent 3 months there, but left when Jews plotted against his life.
- Sopater, 2 Thessalonians (Aristarchus and Secundus), Gaius, Timothy and 2 Asians (Tychicus and Trophimus) went with Paul.
- They broke bread and Paul was preaching late into the night. Eutychus fell asleep in the window while listening and he died.
- Paul touched him and he was alive again.
- Paul bypassed Ephesus because he wanted to be back in Jerusalem by Pentecost.
- Paul sent Miletus to Ephesus to get the Ephesian elders to come talk to him.
- Paul is going to Jerusalem in the Spirit and he knows trial and affliction will meet him there.
- Paul wants nothing more than to finish his ministry well.
- Paul says he knows he will not see anyone there again and he spurs them on to watch over their individual people.
- Paul reminds them of his 3 years with them and how he served and didn't take anything from them.
- Jesus had said, "it is more blessed to give than to receive."
- He ended his time with them by praying.
- They were sad that they would never see Paul again.

2 Timothy 1
- How much time did Paul spend a day in prayer because he was constantly praying for everyone?
- Paul says that the faith was in Timothy's grandmother, then mom, and then in him.
- What about dwelling in Timothy's male family members?
- God gave them a spirit of power, love, and self-control.
- Paul spurs Timothy on to suffer for the grace of God that was given to them.
- Paul reminds Timothy of the truth and power of the gospel by saying that Christ abolished death and brought it into light.
- Which "that Day" is Paul referring to...his death or Christ's return?
- Paul tells Timothy to follow his example and guard the gospel preaching calling which God has "entrusted" to him.
- Phygelus and Hermogenes have fallen away in Asia.
- Why does Paul say that all those in Asia have fallen away? What about the church in Ephesus?
- Was Onesiphorus (a man who helped them in Ephesus) a Christian?
- Why does Paul pray that he will find mercy?
- Onesiphorus searched for Paul and found him in Rome which brought Paul apparent joy.
