Leviticus 17
- Did they have to bring every animal they killed to eat to the tent of meeting first?
- What were the goat demons that some were sacrificing to in the field?
- The last sentence of this sections says that anyone who sacrifices and doesn't bring it to the tent of meeting will be cut off from the rest of the people.
- If anyone, Jew or stranger visiting eats blood they shall be cut off from the people.
- The blood = life and is for making atonement for sins, not for eating.
- It says blood is life three times in one paragraph.
- So if you eat something that was killed by animals or dies on its own you shall bathe yourself and be unclean until evening.
- If you don't bathe you shall be cut off from the people and bear your iniquity.
Ecclesiastes 2
- The author tested himself with indulgence in pleasure.
- He got drunk, but still he found pleasure lacking.
- He created great buildings and gardens, bought many slaves and acquired great wealth.
- He had more than anyone else ever had before him, he remained wise, but kept nothing from himself.
- In the end when he considered all he had done it too was found to be meaningless and unfulfilling.
- Why would Solomon commit every sin and not use the wisdom he preached to his son in Proverbs? Isn't he a hypocrite?
- He saw more gain in wisdom than folly and in light than darkness, but he hates the fact that the wise will pass on just like the fool and both will be forgotten.
- He said it was a great evil to have to pass on everything he had worked so hard for for someone who did nothing and might be a foolish man as well.
- Solomon states than what is best is to enjoy your toil.
- Finding joy in your work is from God
- God gives knowledge and joy to the one who pleases him.
- Why are wisdom and knowledge separated?
- God gives to those who please him from those who are toiling.
Acts 15
- Some men started preaching that people could not be saved unless they were circumsised.
- Paul and Barnabas were sent to dispute this teaching.
- Other Christians were strengthened in their faith by stories of Gentiles being converted.
- Peter stood up and reminded them of Gentiles who had been receiving the Holy Spirit without even knowing the Law or being circumsised.
- He said the Law was an unneeded part of faith.
- james stood an quoted the OT and said that they shouldn't put the weight of the Law on the Gentile believers but simply tell them to abstain from idol worship, sexual immorality, and from eating this containing blood (why did he choose this one)?
- Judas and Sila were sent with paul and Barnabas
- They sent a letter to the Gentile believers sayin g to avoid these 3 things.
- The Gentile belivers rejoiced when they heard the letter.
- Why didn't Paul and Barnabas resolve their conflict over whether to take John or not?

- The gospel still went forth even though they were in conflict.
1 Timothy 2
- Paul tells Timothy to pray for the people from the king to believers who can live peaceful, quiet lives.
- God desires that all people would come to saving faith in Him.
- There is one God and only one mediator, Jesus.
- Jesus was a ransom for all.
- Believers should pray and not quarrel.
- Women should dress modestly
- apparently braided hair and gold/pearls were not modest.
- Paul tells women to put on good works.
- Women are not to teach men but to listen and submit quietly.
- Paul's logic is that Adam was created first and Eve was deceived.
- How was Eve saved through child bearing?
- They should continue in faith, love and holiness with self control

leviticus 16 - Ecclesiastes – acts 14 – 2 thessonians 3
Leviticus 16
- Why wasn't Aaaron to enter the tent of meeting after his sons died?
- He was supposed to bring a Bull and ram as a sin and burnt offering.
- He shall dress in special garb and get 2 goats and a ram from the people.
- Lots were cast over the 2 goats one was sacrificed to God the other given to Azazel
- Azazel was a place or a demon (Why would they offer a sacrifice to a demon?
- The second goat was sent to Azazel in the wilderness.
- He was to sacrifice the bull for himself and add sweet spices and sprinkle the blood 7 times on the mercy seat.
- Aaron made atonement for the people by sacrificing the bull and sprinkling its blood on the mercy seat make an unclean people clean.
- Aaron then confessed the people's iniquities, transgressions, and sins over the goat and sent it away into the wilderness.
- After leaving the Holy Place, Aaron was to take off his robes and leave them in the tent of meeting.
- On the 10th day of the 7th month all of the people are supposed to fast.
- The above atonement practices were to take place during this day every year and the people were to treat it like a holy Sabbath day.

- He says that everything is vanity, pointless work under the sun.
- He mentions the winds blowing and the sea never getting full.
- Neither the eye nor the ear can be satisfied.
- There is nothing new. Everything has already been done and will be done so again.
- Why does he say that former people won't be remembered? King David still is remembered today.
- The writer sought wisdom as he ruled.
- He says that even gaining great wealth and knowledge is like "striving after the wind"
- Why does he say increasing in knowledge, increases sorrow?

- They preached there a long time and the Jews divided the people, and they had to flee before being stoned.
- At Lystra, Paul healed a man who was crippled since birth.
- They called them Zeus and Hermes because the people thought they were gods.

- Paul told the people that God had allowed Gentiles to walk in their own ways before, eventhough God was still providing for them with food and rain.
- The Jews from Antioch came and stirred up the crowd.
- They stoned Paul until they thought he was dead.
- Paul met with other disciples in that same region and went back even to the town where he was almost killed and preached the word and strengthened the believers there.
- Paul continued to preach throughout the region until returning to Antioch to spend time and rejoice with disciples about conversions among the Gentiles.

leviticus 15 - proverbs 31 – acts 13 – 2 thessalonians 3
Leviticus 15
- A person with a discharge and anything they touch is unclean until evening.
- If the unclean person spits on someone else, they too are unclean until evening.
- He shall clean himself for 7 days and be deemed clean on the 8th day.
- Two doves, one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering
- Why is having sex a "unclean until evening" thing?
- Women are unclean for seven days during their menstrual cycle.
- If a woman bleeds a discharge not during her cycle she shall cleanse herself for 7 days and offer two doves and then be deemed clean.
Proverbs 31
- Written by King Lemuel
- He is questioning his sons actions.
- He tells his son not to give away his strength to women or to drinking.
- He tells his son to speak up for the poor and judge rightly.
- An excellent wife is a precious thing.
- She does her husband good and he has no worries.
- She is a hard worker
- She gets up early to get things done.
- She makes wise purchases on her own.
- She works into the night.
- She reaches out to the poor and needy...is others focused.
- She makes nice things for her household.
- She is clothed in strength and dignity and doesn't fear about the future.
- She is wise and speaks kindly.
- She does her husband good and is not idle.
- Her children and husband praise her.
- A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised
- Beauty fades.
- Her works bring her praise.
Acts 13
- The Holy Spirit told the group of believers to set apart Saul and Barnabas.
- John went with them to help.
- Bar-Jesus was a magician there and he wanted to hear the word they preached.
- Saul is now called Paul.
- Paul struck the magician blind for a time for his unbelief and the rest of the procounsel believed.
- After this John left them.
- Paul was encouraged to speak the word of God on the Sabbath in Antioch.
- Paul gives them a history review of the 450 years until they reached the promised land, how they had judges and then a king.
- Paul connected Jesus to the promises God gave through David.
- Paul tells them how the Jews fulfilled the OT by crucifying Jesus and the He raised from the dead.
- The group asked Paul to preach again during the next Sabbath and many believed.
- The Jews tried to stir up the crowd but when Paul quoted a verse that God wanted to give life to the Gentiles the people erupted with rejoicing.
- Eventually the Jews stirred up a high ranking woman who kicked them out of town.
- They left rejoicing at what had happened in Antioch.

- Paul asks them to pray for Paul's ministry and for them to continue following the gospel truths
- Paul commands them to stay away from idle men.
- If people don't work they shouldn't eat.

- Love him as a brother and try to help him see his errors.
- Paul wrote this letter to them himself. No scribe was needed.

leviticus 14 - proverbs 30 – acts 12 – 2 thessalonians 2
Leviticus 14
- Priest comes out to leprous person. If they are deemed clean they must bring two birds. One bird is killed and one bird is bathed in the blood of the first bird and it is let go.
- Then the leper shall shave off all of his hair, and then bring a sin offering and grain offering.
- After 8 days the priest shall kill one of the rams as a guilt and wave offering.
- Why does the priest put blood on his right ear lobe, thumb and toe?
- The priest puts some oil on the right earlobe, thumb and big toe of the cleansed leper.
- If the man is poor he may bring one lamb and 2 doves.
- What would be a leprosy in your house? Red or green mold?
- If the house gets worse in 7 days then all infected stones must be throw away outside the city.
- If it still comes back the house shall be destroyed.
- If it stays clean then two doves shall be sacrificed for the house and it shall be deemed clean.
Proverbs 30
- Written by Agur son of Jakeh the oracle
- Why put someone else's proverbs in with King Solomon's?
- A man cries out I am worn out and stupid (because he lacks knowledge of God)
- It's interesting to see that Agur mentions God having a Son.
- God's word always proves true and we can not add to it.
- Agur makes 2 requests of God
1) remove liars from him
2) give him neither wealth nor poverty
- wealth/being full Agur may deny his needs for God.
- poverty may lead him to steal and curse God's name.
- Do not look upon yourself to highly.
- 4 things are never satisfied

3) Land for Water
4) Fire
- 4 things Agur does not understand

- Then Herod arrested Peter with the Jews approval.
- 4 squads of soldiers were put in place to guard his prison cell.

- An angel came to Peter while he was being guarded and in chains
- Peter dressed and followed the angel out. He thought the whole thing was a vision.
- The gate opened by itself for them.
- Peter went to Mary, John's (Mark) mother's house.
- She was so unexcited she didn't open the gate but ran to tell the others.
- They thought she was crazy.
- Why wouldn't they want to go talk to Peter's angel?
- He told the other James and fellow believers what had happened and went to another place.
- Herod was so mad that Peter had escaped that he had the soldiers guarding him put to death.
- Herod was angry with people of Tyre and Sidon and they asked to make peace with him.
- The people started shouting that Herod was a god not a man and in that very moment God struck him dead.
The believers continued to increased.
- Saul, Barnabas, and John(Mark) returned from Jerusalem.
2 Thessalonians 2
- Paul told them not to be shaken in their faith when they gather together
- Paul also warned them about fake letters they may receive claiming to be from "Paul".
- Paul reminded them of warning signs of Christ's return, such as one claiming to be God will sit on the throne.
- The call him the "lawless one" who will come and do these things.
- Paul says the Jesus will return and kill this lawless one
- The lawless one will be sent by Satan and will do false wonders.
- How much and what kind of powers does Satan have?
- Those who don't believe the Truth will be condemned.
- Paul says he always remembers the first fruits of when they first believed and were sanctified by the Spirit.
- Why does Paul refer to what he taught them as "traditions" when Paul always boasts that faith is NOT by works?
- We have eternal hope and good comfort through our faith.
- Paul tells them to find comfort in this and to establish themselves in every good work and word.

leviticus 13 - proverbs 29 – acts 11 – 2 thessalonians 1
Leviticus 13
- Leprosy Laws - if there is an infection of the skin and the hair turns white, that person is unclean.
- If the hair is NOT white that person is isolated for 7 days followed by another 7 days. If it starts to heal the person is pronounced clean.
- If the rash spereads he is deemed unclean and leperous.
- Raw flesh = unclean, but once it turns white that person is deemed clean again.
- A boil person is locked up 7 days and is deemed clean unless the hair tunrs white.
- Same is true of a burn.
- Yellow hair on the head or beard will be deemed unclean.
- The person will shave himself except for the infected area.
- He is locked up for 7 days to see if it turns yellow and/or spreads. If it does the person is pronounced unclean.
- White spots, leukodermia, = clean.
- Balding = clean, but balding with a rash = unclean
- A Leper shall wear torn clothes, let his hair grow long, and yell unclean unclean wherever he goes. He shall also live alone outside of the camp.
- What does he do if he has a family?
- If a garment turns green it is leperous, the garment is locked up for 7 days and then reexamined.
- If it is unclean it is bruned with fire.
- It shall be washed and if the leprousy disappears or fades it shall be deemed clean, but if it stays the same it shall be burned with fire.
Proverbs 29
- If you don't listen to reproof ruin will come to you.
- A righteous man can sing and rejoice, but a wicked man gets caught in his transgressions.
- A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man holds it back.
- Discipline = wisdom
- Prophecy encourages the hearts of the people.
- Pride brings a man low but humility will be honored.
- Fearing man is like a snare. Trusting in the Lord = safety.
- Justice comes from the Lord not from the ruler himself.
- Righteousness and wickedness oppose one another.
Acts 11
- Peter was critisised for going to Gentiles and preaching the gospel until he explained to them the vision God had shown him.
- Peter explains that he went because he remembered that God was baptizing with the Spirit and if God was choosing to save the Gnetiles who was he to stand in God's way.
- The believers then saw that God wanted to save Jew and Gentile alike.
- Some believers went to Antioch and converted many Jews, but they didn't preach to the Gentiles.
- Barnabas was sent to Antioch.
- Saul went with Barnabas to Antioch for a year.
- The Antioch believers were the first to be called "Christians"
- Agabus fortold the droughts that would take place in the days of Claudius.
- The believers sent relief to believers in Judea durinf that time.
2 Thessalonians 1
- Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy are writing this letter.
- Paul says they pray for them because of their constantly growing love for one another.
- Paul says he boasts about the way they endure trials to other churches. The Thessalonains are a model church.
- What does it mean to "afflict those who afflict you"?
- Christ and his angels will eventually bring vengence on those unbelievers who afflict them.
- Those people will be away from God's glory for all eternity. This is the WORST punishment a person can endure!!!
- Paul prays that they will continue to live a life worthy of their calling as Christians.
- This will bring glory to Christ's name
- Leprosy Laws - if there is an infection of the skin and the hair turns white, that person is unclean.
- If the hair is NOT white that person is isolated for 7 days followed by another 7 days. If it starts to heal the person is pronounced clean.
- If the rash spereads he is deemed unclean and leperous.
- Raw flesh = unclean, but once it turns white that person is deemed clean again.
- A boil person is locked up 7 days and is deemed clean unless the hair tunrs white.
- Same is true of a burn.
- Yellow hair on the head or beard will be deemed unclean.
- The person will shave himself except for the infected area.
- He is locked up for 7 days to see if it turns yellow and/or spreads. If it does the person is pronounced unclean.
- White spots, leukodermia, = clean.
- Balding = clean, but balding with a rash = unclean
- A Leper shall wear torn clothes, let his hair grow long, and yell unclean unclean wherever he goes. He shall also live alone outside of the camp.
- What does he do if he has a family?
- If a garment turns green it is leperous, the garment is locked up for 7 days and then reexamined.
- If it is unclean it is bruned with fire.
- It shall be washed and if the leprousy disappears or fades it shall be deemed clean, but if it stays the same it shall be burned with fire.

- If you don't listen to reproof ruin will come to you.

Acts 11
- Peter was critisised for going to Gentiles and preaching the gospel until he explained to them the vision God had shown him.
- Peter explains that he went because he remembered that God was baptizing with the Spirit and if God was choosing to save the Gnetiles who was he to stand in God's way.
- The believers then saw that God wanted to save Jew and Gentile alike.
- Some believers went to Antioch and converted many Jews, but they didn't preach to the Gentiles.
- Barnabas was sent to Antioch.
- Saul went with Barnabas to Antioch for a year.
- The Antioch believers were the first to be called "Christians"
- Agabus fortold the droughts that would take place in the days of Claudius.
- The believers sent relief to believers in Judea durinf that time.
2 Thessalonians 1
- Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy are writing this letter.
- Paul says they pray for them because of their constantly growing love for one another.
- Paul says he boasts about the way they endure trials to other churches. The Thessalonains are a model church.
- What does it mean to "afflict those who afflict you"?
- Christ and his angels will eventually bring vengence on those unbelievers who afflict them.
- Those people will be away from God's glory for all eternity. This is the WORST punishment a person can endure!!!
- Paul prays that they will continue to live a life worthy of their calling as Christians.
- This will bring glory to Christ's name

leviticus 12 - proverbs 28 – acts 10 – 1 thessalonians 5
Leviticus 12
- A woman is unclean for 7 days after she bears a male child.
- The baby boy shall be circumsized on the 8th day after birth.
- Is the woman to be purified for 7 days plus 33 days?
- That would be 40 days total which is a reoccurring biblical number.
- If she bears a girl she shall be unclean for 2 weeks and have to continue be purified for 66 additional days which adding together equal 80.
- Why is a woman unclean twice as long if she bears a girl?
- When the mother is done being cleansed she must bring a lamb for a burnt offering and a pigeon for a sin offering to make atonement for herself.
- If a lamb and a pigeon are too pricey, she can bring two young pigeons.

- A ruler with understanding helps add stability to an area.
- If you live against the law you praise the wicked, but if you live by it strive against the wicked.
- Walking with integrity is better than riches.
- Prayers are an abomination for those who turn away from the Law.
- Don't hide trangression but humbly confess them and you will prosper.
- Following worthless pursuits leads to poverty.
- A rebuke is better than flattery.
- Trusting in my own mind is a foolish. I should trust in God.
- Twice it says that the righteous hide from a wicked ruler.

- There was a God fearing centurion named Cornelius in Caesarea.
- An angel appeared to him in the 9th hour of the day.
- Cornelius was terrified by the angel.
- The angel told him to send for Simon Peter who was in Joppa.
- He sent two servants and a loyal soldier.
- Meanwhile Peter went up to pray at the 6th hour.
- Peter was hungry and had a vision of a large sheet being put down before him. A voice told Peter to rise and eat.
- Peter refused to eat what was common and unclean.
-The voice told him not to refuse what God had made.
- Peter refused 3 times until the sheet was taken up from him.
- Peter was "inwardly perplexed" when Cornelius' men arrived.
- The Spirit told Peter to go with the men to see Cornelius, so he did.
- Why would Cornelius worship Peter?
- Peter realized that God was telling him not to hold fast to the old Jewish law about refusing to communicate with "unclean" (unJewish) people.
- How was Cornelius a God fearing man without knowing the gospel?
- Peter has a major paradigm shift and realizes that God will accept anyone who will follow Him.
- Peter boldly proclaimed the gospel to them and showed them how the prophets pointed to Jesus and that fact that he would take away the sins through His holy name.
- While Peter was talking the Holy Spirit was poured out to these Gentiles.
- Peter baptized these new believers and stayed for many more days with them.
1 Thessalonians 5
- Paul reminds the people that the Lord will come back "like a theif in the night".
- Paul encourages them to be ready and "awake" turning from darkness.
- Paul tells them to put on the breastplate of love and faith and the helmet of hope of salvation to fight the darkness in this world.
- Paul reminds them that they are no longer under God's wrath so they should be building one another up as they have been doing.
- Paul encourages the Thessalonians to respect and encourage their spiritual leaders and to be at peace with fellow believers.
- Paul tells them to spur on the idle(undisciplined) and encourage those who are struggling, and be patient with everyone.
- Don't repay evil with evil but strive to always do good.
- Rejoice always
- Pray continually
- Give thanks in all situations
- Do nothing to quench the spirit.
- Test everything and hold onto what is good.
