Leviticus 14
- Priest comes out to leprous person. If they are deemed clean they must bring two birds. One bird is killed and one bird is bathed in the blood of the first bird and it is let go.
- Then the leper shall shave off all of his hair, and then bring a sin offering and grain offering.
- After 8 days the priest shall kill one of the rams as a guilt and wave offering.
- Why does the priest put blood on his right ear lobe, thumb and toe?
- The priest puts some oil on the right earlobe, thumb and big toe of the cleansed leper.
- If the man is poor he may bring one lamb and 2 doves.
- What would be a leprosy in your house? Red or green mold?
- If the house gets worse in 7 days then all infected stones must be throw away outside the city.
- If it still comes back the house shall be destroyed.
- If it stays clean then two doves shall be sacrificed for the house and it shall be deemed clean.
Proverbs 30
- Written by Agur son of Jakeh the oracle
- Why put someone else's proverbs in with King Solomon's?
- A man cries out I am worn out and stupid (because he lacks knowledge of God)
- It's interesting to see that Agur mentions God having a Son.
- God's word always proves true and we can not add to it.
- Agur makes 2 requests of God
1) remove liars from him
2) give him neither wealth nor poverty
- wealth/being full Agur may deny his needs for God.
- poverty may lead him to steal and curse God's name.
- Do not look upon yourself to highly.
- 4 things are never satisfied
1) death
2) Barren womb
3) Land for Water
4) Fire
- 4 things Agur does not understand
1) Eagle in sky
2) Serpent movement
3) Ship on the sea

- Why mention the adulterous in the middle of these 4 part lists?

- The fool should put his hand over his mouth
- Pressing anger leads to strife.
Acts 12
- Herod killed James the brother of John
- Then Herod arrested Peter with the Jews approval.
- 4 squads of soldiers were put in place to guard his prison cell.
- People prayed for his release.
- An angel came to Peter while he was being guarded and in chains
- Peter dressed and followed the angel out. He thought the whole thing was a vision.
- The gate opened by itself for them.
- Peter went to Mary, John's (Mark) mother's house.
- She was so unexcited she didn't open the gate but ran to tell the others.
- They thought she was crazy.
- Why wouldn't they want to go talk to Peter's angel?
- He told the other James and fellow believers what had happened and went to another place.
- Herod was so mad that Peter had escaped that he had the soldiers guarding him put to death.
- Herod was angry with people of Tyre and Sidon and they asked to make peace with him.
- The people started shouting that Herod was a god not a man and in that very moment God struck him dead.
The believers continued to increased.
- Saul, Barnabas, and John(Mark) returned from Jerusalem.
2 Thessalonians 2
- Paul told them not to be shaken in their faith when they gather together
- Paul also warned them about fake letters they may receive claiming to be from "Paul".
- Paul reminded them of warning signs of Christ's return, such as one claiming to be God will sit on the throne.
- The call him the "lawless one" who will come and do these things.
- Paul says the Jesus will return and kill this lawless one
- The lawless one will be sent by Satan and will do false wonders.
- How much and what kind of powers does Satan have?
- Those who don't believe the Truth will be condemned.
- Paul says he always remembers the first fruits of when they first believed and were sanctified by the Spirit.
- Why does Paul refer to what he taught them as "traditions" when Paul always boasts that faith is NOT by works?
- We have eternal hope and good comfort through our faith.
- Paul tells them to find comfort in this and to establish themselves in every good work and word.

leviticus 13 - proverbs 29 – acts 11 – 2 thessalonians 1
Leviticus 13
- Leprosy Laws - if there is an infection of the skin and the hair turns white, that person is unclean.
- If the hair is NOT white that person is isolated for 7 days followed by another 7 days. If it starts to heal the person is pronounced clean.
- If the rash spereads he is deemed unclean and leperous.
- Raw flesh = unclean, but once it turns white that person is deemed clean again.
- A boil person is locked up 7 days and is deemed clean unless the hair tunrs white.
- Same is true of a burn.
- Yellow hair on the head or beard will be deemed unclean.
- The person will shave himself except for the infected area.
- He is locked up for 7 days to see if it turns yellow and/or spreads. If it does the person is pronounced unclean.
- White spots, leukodermia, = clean.
- Balding = clean, but balding with a rash = unclean
- A Leper shall wear torn clothes, let his hair grow long, and yell unclean unclean wherever he goes. He shall also live alone outside of the camp.
- What does he do if he has a family?
- If a garment turns green it is leperous, the garment is locked up for 7 days and then reexamined.
- If it is unclean it is bruned with fire.
- It shall be washed and if the leprousy disappears or fades it shall be deemed clean, but if it stays the same it shall be burned with fire.
Proverbs 29
- If you don't listen to reproof ruin will come to you.
- A righteous man can sing and rejoice, but a wicked man gets caught in his transgressions.
- A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man holds it back.
- Discipline = wisdom
- Prophecy encourages the hearts of the people.
- Pride brings a man low but humility will be honored.
- Fearing man is like a snare. Trusting in the Lord = safety.
- Justice comes from the Lord not from the ruler himself.
- Righteousness and wickedness oppose one another.
Acts 11
- Peter was critisised for going to Gentiles and preaching the gospel until he explained to them the vision God had shown him.
- Peter explains that he went because he remembered that God was baptizing with the Spirit and if God was choosing to save the Gnetiles who was he to stand in God's way.
- The believers then saw that God wanted to save Jew and Gentile alike.
- Some believers went to Antioch and converted many Jews, but they didn't preach to the Gentiles.
- Barnabas was sent to Antioch.
- Saul went with Barnabas to Antioch for a year.
- The Antioch believers were the first to be called "Christians"
- Agabus fortold the droughts that would take place in the days of Claudius.

- Paul says they pray for them because of their constantly growing love for one another.
- Paul says he boasts about the way they endure trials to other churches. The Thessalonains are a model church.
- What does it mean to "afflict those who afflict you"?
- Christ and his angels will eventually bring vengence on those unbelievers who afflict them.
- Those people will be away from God's glory for all eternity. This is the WORST punishment a person can endure!!!
- Paul prays that they will continue to live a life worthy of their calling as Christians.
- This will bring glory to Christ's name

leviticus 12 - proverbs 28 – acts 10 – 1 thessalonians 5
Leviticus 12
- A woman is unclean for 7 days after she bears a male child.
- The baby boy shall be circumsized on the 8th day after birth.
- Is the woman to be purified for 7 days plus 33 days?
- That would be 40 days total which is a reoccurring biblical number.
- If she bears a girl she shall be unclean for 2 weeks and have to continue be purified for 66 additional days which adding together equal 80.
- Why is a woman unclean twice as long if she bears a girl?
- When the mother is done being cleansed she must bring a lamb for a burnt offering and a pigeon for a sin offering to make atonement for herself.
- If a lamb and a pigeon are too pricey, she can bring two young pigeons.
Proverbs 28
- A ruler with understanding helps add stability to an area.
- If you live against the law you praise the wicked, but if you live by it strive against the wicked.
- Walking with integrity is better than riches.
- Prayers are an abomination for those who turn away from the Law.
- Don't hide trangression but humbly confess them and you will prosper.
- Following worthless pursuits leads to poverty.
- A rebuke is better than flattery.
- Trusting in my own mind is a foolish. I should trust in God.
- Twice it says that the righteous hide from a wicked ruler.
Acts 10
- There was a God fearing centurion named Cornelius in Caesarea.
- An angel appeared to him in the 9th hour of the day.
- Cornelius was terrified by the angel.
- The angel told him to send for Simon Peter who was in Joppa.
- He sent two servants and a loyal soldier.
- Meanwhile Peter went up to pray at the 6th hour.
- Peter was hungry and had a vision of a large sheet being put down before him. A voice told Peter to rise and eat.
- Peter refused to eat what was common and unclean.
-The voice told him not to refuse what God had made.
- Peter refused 3 times until the sheet was taken up from him.
- Peter was "inwardly perplexed" when Cornelius' men arrived.
- The Spirit told Peter to go with the men to see Cornelius, so he did.
- Why would Cornelius worship Peter?
- Peter realized that God was telling him not to hold fast to the old Jewish law about refusing to communicate with "unclean" (unJewish) people.
- How was Cornelius a God fearing man without knowing the gospel?
- Peter has a major paradigm shift and realizes that God will accept anyone who will follow Him.
- Peter boldly proclaimed the gospel to them and showed them how the prophets pointed to Jesus and that fact that he would take away the sins through His holy name.
- While Peter was talking the Holy Spirit was poured out to these Gentiles.
- Peter baptized these new believers and stayed for many more days with them.
1 Thessalonians 5
- Paul reminds the people that the Lord will come back "like a theif in the night".
- Paul encourages them to be ready and "awake" turning from darkness.
- Paul tells them to put on the breastplate of love and faith and the helmet of hope of salvation to fight the darkness in this world.
- Paul reminds them that they are no longer under God's wrath so they should be building one another up as they have been doing.
- Paul encourages the Thessalonians to respect and encourage their spiritual leaders and to be at peace with fellow believers.
- Paul tells them to spur on the idle(undisciplined) and encourage those who are struggling, and be patient with everyone.
- Don't repay evil with evil but strive to always do good.
- Rejoice always
- Pray continually
- Give thanks in all situations
- Do nothing to quench the spirit.
- Test everything and hold onto what is good.
- Paul asks God to continue to purify them.
- Why does Paul give them an oath to share this leeter with all believers?

leviticus 11 - proverbs 27 – acts 9 – 1 thessalonians 4
Leviticus 11
- If God told Moses and the Jews which animals were unclean, how did Noah know which animals were clean to bring 7 pairs of?
- Clean - Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat. Anything with fins and scales in the water, crickets, locusts, grasshoppers
- Unclean - Camel, Rock badger, the hare, and the pig, swarming things in the water,the eagle, the bearded vulture, the black vulture, the kite, the falcon of any kind, every raven of any kind, the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk of any kind, the little owl, the cormorant, the short-eared owl, the barn owl, the tawny owl, the carrion vulture, the stork, the heron of any kind, the hoopoe, and the bat, insects, the mole rat, the mouse, the great lizard of any kind, 30 the gecko, the monitor lizard, the lizard, the sand lizard, and the chameleon, Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, any swarming thing that swarms on the ground.
- The people couldn't even touch these animals (pigs or others?)
- Why was ostrich forbidden?
- Why does it say insects have 4 feet?
- Is it wrong to touch a living camel? Does that make you unclean?
- Unclean animals in your house that touch food or pots, those things it touches are unclean.
- Water and planting seeds touched by an unclean animal are still clean, but if you touch them you are unclean.
- God calls the people to be holy because He Himself is holy.
Proverbs 27
- Do not boast about tomorrow when you don't know the future.
- Let someone else praise you, not yourself.
- Jealousy is worse than wrath or anger.
- An open rebuke is better than hidden love.
- The importance of true friends is listed thrice.
- Have good relationships with your neighbors.
- The wise do not carry on into danger.
- Why is loudly praising your neighbor bringing cursing?
- A quarrelsome wife adds difficulty (I'd say the same about a quarrelsome husband)
- People sharpen (strengthen) each other.
- The heart of a man reflects a man.
- A man's eyes are never satisfied (Is this talking about lust?)
- A man is tested by how people talk about him.
- Know the condition of those around you (your flock)
- Your flocks will supply you in tough times
Acts 9
- This section is about Saul's conversion to Paul and how Paul is healed.

- Paul urges the Thessalonians to continue growing in godliness as they've been doing.
- Sanctification = fleeing sexual immorality, controling your body, avoiding wronging your brother
- Paul lists ways to control your body.
- God has called us to holiness
- Any man who goes against these 3 things goes against God not man.
- The people in Macedonia are aware of their love for others.
- Paul urges them to live quietly and manage own affairs so that their a good example to outsiders.
- Paul turns his attention to those who have died.
- How can God bring those who have already died to Himself?
- The dead will be first to enter heaven.
- Paul encourages them to join together and know that they will be with their loved ones who have already passed away in heaven.

Leviticus 10
- Nadab and Abihu offered unauthorized fire to the Lord.
- The fire came out from the alter and killed Aaron's sons.
- Moses told Aaron that the Lord will be glorified, so Aaron held his peace.
- Why didn't God kill Aaron when he had made the golden calf?
- How would Aaron and Moses' sons going outside and morning the loss of the 2 men bring God's wrath on the whole congregation?
- Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel (Aaron's uncle) took the bodies outside the camp.
- Eleazar and Ithimar were Aaron's remaining sons
- Aaron wasn't supposed to consume any alcohol as a witness of what was clean and holy.
- aaron and his sons, and his daughters were to eat the grain and wave offerings.
- What did Aaron's wife eat?
- Why was Moses so upset with Aaron's sons?
- Where was the goat sin offering supposed to be eaten?
- What did Aaron mean that this had happened to him?
- What made Moses approve of what they had done all of a sudden?
Proverbs 26
- Do curses work if the timing is right? Is it okay to curse someone?
- A rod makes fools go the right way.
- Do not answer or acknowledge a fool or he will feel wise.
- A fool returns to his folly like a dog returns to its vomit.
- Even a wise man should not think or boast that he is wise. That is worse than being a fool.
- v.1 -12 are all about turning away from fools.
- v.13 - 16 are all about the sluggard
- Why is it bad for the sluggard to say there is a lion in the streets? What should he do?
- You shouldn't meddle in a quarrel not your own.
- Do not do bad things and say you were only joking.
- Quarreling ceases when whispering stops.
- Quarreling = strife
- What does it mean the whisperings go down to your inner parts? Is this good or bad?
- Hate comes from harboring deceit in your heart.
- Is there anywhere else that talks about the "seven abominations"?
- Flattery works to ruin others.
Acts 9
- Saul was seeking evil against the Christians and went to the high priests for letters which would allow him to bring back as prisoners anyone who preached "The Way"
- Saul was engulfed in a bright light on his way to Damascus and Jesus asked him why he was persecuting Him.
- Saul's men heard the voice but saw no one.
- Saul was struck blind.
- Jesus told him to enter the city.
- Saul was blind and didn't eat or drink for 3 days.
- Ananias was a disciple living in Damascus.
- Jesus told Ananias that Saul was His chosen instrument to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles and Jews.
- Ananias was scared of Saul because all Christians had heard about what he was doing to them in Jerusalem.
- When Ananias touched Saul's eyes, scales fell from them and his sight was restored and Saul was baptized.
- Saul stayed with the disciples for awhile and then many were shocked when Saul was preaching the Way and confounding the Jews with the very message that Saul himself had set out to stop.
- The Jews plotted to kill Saul, but the disciples let him down in a basket over the wall at night.
- Saul went to the Disciples but they were scared of him until Barnabas told them of all that had happened to Saul and how he was preaching The Way.
- They sent Saul to Tarsus.

- Paul sent Timothy to see if they had been tempted away from the faith as they feared may have happened.

- Even a wise man should not think or boast that he is wise. That is worse than being a fool.
- v.1 -12 are all about turning away from fools.

- Why is it bad for the sluggard to say there is a lion in the streets? What should he do?
- You shouldn't meddle in a quarrel not your own.
- Do not do bad things and say you were only joking.
- Quarreling ceases when whispering stops.

- What does it mean the whisperings go down to your inner parts? Is this good or bad?
- Hate comes from harboring deceit in your heart.

- Flattery works to ruin others.
Acts 9
- Saul was seeking evil against the Christians and went to the high priests for letters which would allow him to bring back as prisoners anyone who preached "The Way"
- Saul was engulfed in a bright light on his way to Damascus and Jesus asked him why he was persecuting Him.
- Saul's men heard the voice but saw no one.
- Saul was struck blind.
- Jesus told him to enter the city.
- Saul was blind and didn't eat or drink for 3 days.
- Ananias was a disciple living in Damascus.
- Jesus told Ananias that Saul was His chosen instrument to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles and Jews.
- Ananias was scared of Saul because all Christians had heard about what he was doing to them in Jerusalem.
- When Ananias touched Saul's eyes, scales fell from them and his sight was restored and Saul was baptized.
- Saul stayed with the disciples for awhile and then many were shocked when Saul was preaching the Way and confounding the Jews with the very message that Saul himself had set out to stop.
- The Jews plotted to kill Saul, but the disciples let him down in a basket over the wall at night.
- Saul went to the Disciples but they were scared of him until Barnabas told them of all that had happened to Saul and how he was preaching The Way.

leviticus 9 -
Leviticus 9
- On the 8th day Moses told Aaron to sacrifice a bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.
- Why did they have to do this again?
- They told the people to take a goat for a isn offering and a year old calf and a lamb for a burnt offering and an ox and a ram as a peace offering and a grain offering with oil.
- Did each person have to bring these things or was this for everyone together?
- Doing this would cause the glory of the Lord to be with them.
- Aaron first offered the calf and sprinkled it, burned part of it as God had previously required.
- Aaron did the same with the burnt offering.
- He sacrificed the goat and the grain offering.
- Then he killed the ox and the ram.
- Aaron lifted his hands and blessed the people.
- Aaron and Moses went into the tent of meeting and came out blessing the people again.
- The glory of the Lord appeared to all of the people.
- Fire came out from the Lord and consumed the offering.
- The people shouted and fell of their faces.

- Do not exalt yourself, but let others praise you.
- Try to solve problems with the person instead of going to court.
- A ruler/boss is persuaded by patience.
- Do not eat too much and get sick
- Don't over visit your neighbor or he may hate you
- Is singing when you're sad good or not?
- How is heaping burning coals on your neighbor's head kind like feeding him?
- It is not good to seek you own glory.
- A man without self control is not a good thing.

- Stephen started by retelling the promises God made to Abraham and giving him a son and giving his people land after 400 years of exile.
- Stephen then turns their attention to Jacob and the story of Joseph who was lifted up by Pharaoh in Egypt.
- The new Pharaoh didn't know Joseph and oppressed the Israelites until Moses birth.
- At 40 years of age Moses killed and Egyptian who was mistreating a Jewish slave. He fled to Midian.
- Moses stayed in Midian another 40 years until an angel spoke to him from the burning bush.
- Stephen reminds them of the miracles which took place as they left Egypt and of how they turned to worshiping other gods like the golden calf.
- Then Joshua brought them into the land and King David was established.
- Then Solomon built the temple of the Lord
- The prophets said that God does not only dwell in the temple .
- Stephen rebukes them for being stiff necked and resisting the Holy Spirit.
- He said that they had killed all of the prophets of God throughout history.
- Stephen looked into heaven and said he saw the Son of God seated at His right hand, and they rushed upon him.
- They stoned Stephen to death, but as he was dying he asked God not to hold this sin against them.
- Saul (later Paul) was there watching this take place.
- Stephen was the first new Christian killed for his faith.

- Paul says he was mistreated in Philippi when he visited.
- Why doesn't Paul mention this in Philippians?
- Paul says he didn't make demands of them but treated them gently like his own children.
- Paul did not burden them with anything but taught them to walk in a manner worthy of their calling by God.
- Paul is constantly grateful for the way they received the gospel.
- Why does Paul speak so harshly against the Jews instead of praying for their salvation?
- What does Paul mean when he says God's wrath has come upon them at last?
- Paul says that Satan hindered him from returning to Thessalonica.
- Paul call the Thessalonians his glory and joy.
